Hearthstone – Heroes of Warcraft

+

Most certainly many of you have played with Duel Masters cards or Yu-Gi-Oh. I know I was nuts about them and played with them all day long. After good years, in the present day, I have found out that there is a game developed by Blizzard that is pretty similar with these card games, even better I may say. I refer to the game Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft.

The game is extremely simple and well done. If you have played League of Legends, Defense of the Ancients, World of Warcraft, Warcraft III and others, you most certainly will be familiar with this one. All of your favorite heroes have turned into books, and to some happiness in playing cards, not to read ones. Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft is developed by a small team, but not a slouch one. This game have been declared game of the year in 2013 - see more details.

The story is simple: it has no story. In this game it’s all about you and another opponent on the board, each with his hero. All you have to do is to beat you opponent using a deck of cards that you do it yourself. You will throw on the game board with different powers and creatures and you will attack each other. I am not going to detail for you how a battle unfolds because you will have to see it for yourself. I am not going to reap you the pleasure of discovering the game - discover all opportunities.

The game cards are diverse and you will have to win them during the battle. At first you will receive a set of 30 game cards, and in your deck you can’t have a playing card more than twice. The playing cards have many colors to be easy for you to distinguish them, for example, white for common playing cards and purple for rare, powerful playing cards. You have the chance to win game cards every time you level up, finish a quest or enter the arena. Each hero has his own playing cards, but there are also some common ones.

It is important to remember that you can not play a card as soon as you threw it on the board (unless it has a Charge option).

Related to the graphic I can tell that they put a great emphasis on details. All is well drawn, the colors are different and you will not get bored. Plus, during the game when your opponent thins his next move, you can entertain yourself on the board destroying different objects. But if the opponent takes more than a minute to think his move, he loses the turn. If the second time doesn’t make a move in 30 seconds, then it’s your turn again. Of course, this is viceversa.

As a conclusion, I would say that is a very good game, a well thought one. It can get you bored if you don’t understand it and if you don’t have patience to plan each move and create your strategy.
